SD Intensity’s travel team visited the San Francisco Bay area on May 5 – 7, 2017 to participate in the Cal Stars Battle of the Bay tournament. While in the area we were fortunate enough to visit to 2 Division I college campuses and meet with members of their programs.
Players, coaches, and parents took an unofficial visit of Santa Clara University. An assistant coach guided us on a tour of the campus and basketball facilities. The team was able to see student dorms, eating facilities, and take a glimpse into the life of a student athlete.
Before returning to San Diego, Intensity players and parents were lucky enough to have another unofficial visit to UC Berkeley. An assistant coach toured the girls through a portion of the beautiful campus. Players from the Cal Bears were on hand to answer questions the players had about playing in at a DI, highly academic institution.
SD Intensity is grateful to both Santa Clara University and UC Berkeley, their coaching staff and players for spending time with the team. This is just 1 step in our girl’s journey to becoming college students and possibly student athletes.
